Ulsan Metropolitan city, where UOU is located, is the 7th biggest city in Korea with a population of over one million. Ulsan is also known for its beautiful environment surrounded by mountains and the East Sea. Ulsan is called the Industrial Capital of Korea and is home to Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), the world¡¯s biggest shipbuilder, Hyundai Motors Co., the worldclass automaker, and some of the major chemical plants. The university, NAOE in particular, has a long tradition of a close relationship with HHI, the juridical foundation of UOU.
