Welcome to the School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering(NAOE) at the University of Ulsan (UOU). In March 2006, we started a new project (SOTOP, Ship & Ocean TOP rank in the world), supported by the world's number one shipbuilder, Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ldt. to bring up our school up to world-class level. In the effort to enhance our quality of education and research, new intelligent NAOE building was completed in August 2007. Furthermore, a new laboratory building with variety of Hi-Tech experimental facilities was also completed in June 2008. Four new faculty members, who are well recognized in their own fields, joined our school in 2008. The hardware as well as the software infrastructure for the education and research became world top level. Now we are promoting the international research collaboration and student exchange programs through the academic agreements with the world famous universities, such as University of Michigan and University of Glasgow & Strathclyde. Also we are focusing on increasing industry-sponsored research projects, as well as, restructuring the curriculum to educate our graduates to become most potential engineers in the global sphere.
