Ocean Space and Resources Utilization

Recently, in Korea, Japan, and the USA, a plan was developed to utilize ocean space using very large floating structures(VLFS) with floating or fixed wave breakers. The development and utilization of deep ocean water, current energy, wave energy, solar energy and wind energy at seas necessitate many new ideas of offshore structures and their placement in marine environments. There is much research needed in order to realize the super size, super longevity and super safety of novel offshore structures like floating airports or seaports. As a result, the research activities in this field are very broad.
