The structural safety laboratory conducts theoretical and experimental investigations on the ultimate and fatigue limit states of marine structures. Ultimate strength analyses of structures are performed on stiffened plates, stiffened cylinders and ship¡¯s hull girders. Fatigue strength analyses include fatigue life estimation of riveted stiffened panels. Impact strengths of marine structures subjected to collisions and underwater explosion are also investigated in this laboratory.
